It's a lot of fun and great outlet for your creative side. In conclusion, MV still holds up, in my opinion. That said, I'm just playing around on here, not making games for commercial purposes, so my needs are very different. This is very much my opinion, and I accept that, but for me it crossed a boundary in terms of how much I was willing to spend. I've purchased some here and there and found they are generally not very generous, and they are awkwardly split so that no one package fits all of your needs.

My only qualm with the game, and the series in general, is the avalanche of DLC. Sure, you don t feel like a bad ass amateur coder like you did in VX, but damn you get results. Quests, cut scenes, game mechanics, they are all surprisingly easy to navigate, and very satisfying to boot. Compared to VX I feel like you really are rewarded for the time you put in a lot quicker. In terms of ease of use, I managed to make a pretty good (if I do say so myself) 3.5 - 5 hour game in 41 hours.

MV is still a pretty powerful piece of software, and every time the platform changes you have to find all of the plug-ins and workarounds again that helped you to make your created games feel your own! My purpose in writing this review is to say that this software is very much alive and usable, even if there is a newer version out now. I own VX and MV but have not taken the plunge on MZ yet and frankly don't feel I need to yet. Bill gates would definitely approve of this numbering system.
